About the position
You will work directly with the Founder/CEO as a technical right hand, helping design, build, and maintain both internal tools and client-facing applications. This is a hands-on role combining product development, DevOps, and project coordination. It is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a high-velocity startup environment.
Application

- Integrate AI/ML services (e.g. OpenAI, custom fine-tuned models) into product features.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; deploy to Azure Kubernetes Service, AWS ECS, or GCP Cloud Run.
- Maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform or ARM templates; monitor application performance and uptime.
- Translate high-level product visions into technical specifications; prepare prototypes and demos for investor/client meetings.
- Coordinate with data engineers, designers, and external vendors to keep multi-project roadmaps on track.
- Document architecture, write concise status reports, and maintain backlog in Jira or Asana.
- Implement unit/integration tests (Jest, pytest) and enforce coding standards.
- Perform regular security audits, vulnerability scans, and patch management.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience building and shipping production web applications.
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Node.js) and Python (FastAPI or Django/Flask).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/ARM), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to distill complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced startup setting.
- Experience integrating LLMs or AI services (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Azure Cognitive Services).
- Background in data engineering or ETL pipelines (Databricks, Snowflake, Spark).
- Prior experience acting as a technical liaison or assistant to executive leadership.
- Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Chakra UI) and component libraries.
- Knowledge of SQL/noSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
Benefits
- Competitive salary plus equity in a growing AI consultancy.
- Fully remote with flexible hours (EST preferred) and occasional in-person retreats in Virginia.
- Opportunity to work directly alongside the Founder on cutting-edge AI and data projects.
- Professional development budget and access to industry conferences.
- Collaborative, ownership-driven culture with rapid career growth.
